GODDARD ROAD construction project moves into second phase

Stage 1 of the Goddard Road Resurfacing Project is complete and now Stage 2 will be starting this week (May 21-25). Traffic will be diverted to the newly paved outside lanes, one lane in each direction, while the three center lanes are milled and repaired.

During Stage 2 there will be limited left turns allowed, and no left turns during the milling and paving operations. Also, there will be no left turns from east bound Goddard onto north bound Pardee Road.

The City of Taylor received Federal Funding through the Michigan Department of Transportation to repair and resurface Goddard Road from Telegraph Road to Pardee Road. Hennessey Engineers is acting as the City’s engineering and inspection consultant for this project. Cadillac Asphalt, Inc., of Clarkston, was awarded the contract for this work.

Work started the week of April 9. The project has a final completion date of June 29.

During the project residents and businesses may lose access to driveways and the front or side of the property for short periods of time during the milling, base pavement repair and paving operations. Otherwise access will be provided at all times.

Trash pick-up will continue on the regularly scheduled day and trash containers should be placed at the edge of the street.

We apologize for the inconvenience this work may cause you. The City, Hennessey Engineers and Cadillac Asphalt will try to limit the inconvenience as best as possible. Your cooperation in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Should you have any questions, kindly contact Greg Mayhew, City Engineer, at (734) 374-1473, or by email at gmayhew@ci.taylor.mi.us.
