City continues work on water mains in northwest Taylor

Water and Sewer Logo that reads, "Water at your service."

EDITOR’S NOTE: This post has been revised again. The State of Michigan has cleared  this work as "essential services" and it will continue as originally scheduled. Sorry for any confusion.

The City of Taylor will continue working on water mains in the northwest area of the community this week. The general limits of the spring 2020 work extend from portions of Daniel Avenue west to Wellington Avenue and Van Born Road south to Beverly Road.

In following through on City planning efforts to maintain and improve City infrastructure, water mains within the area are scheduled to be rehabilitated in conjunction with the 2019 City of Taylor Water Main Rehabilitation Program. The work to be done will primarily involve a widely used construction operation known as directional drilling, a trenchless method. Some areas will also see new water service lines connecting to the existing water main line along the road.

The City of Taylor has contracted with Bidigare Contractors, Inc. to perform the water main construction effort. Wade Trim Associates, Inc., our Consulting Engineers for this Project, will be providing construction inspection oversight and construction engineering assistance.
