Plarning is making yarn from out of plastic strips (plarn) cut from grocery bags. The strips are crocheted into 3'x6' mats that are distributed to the homeless. The mats are lightweight, washable, bug resistant and also benefit our environment by putting the plastic bags to good use instead of our landfills. Approximately 700-1000 bags are used to complete one mat. This group meets every Wednesday from 9:30 - 11:30 am. We always need volunteers to sort, cut or crochet. If this interests you, why not join in and help provide a means for a needy cause and pass a good deed forward. We'd love to have you!

The first class is a special brand of Tai Chi. This is the description from it's creator, David Dorian Ross: TaijiFit is a mind/body "exercise" that combines the best of traditional Taiji (Tai Chi) with modern Western fitness. It's a workout appropriate for any age or fitness level - and has you experiencing the FLOW of Taiji whether it's your first class or 100th. There are no routines to learn, or set choreography to remember. Instead, class members follow an instructor trained in the method known as "QiCueing"- designed to bring your muscular, cardiovascular and nervous systems into perfect synergy-along with your mind and Spirit. TaijiFit is a special kind of movement experience that meets all your fitness needs...and more. It's more than just an exercise. It's also a moving meditation, a shield against disease, and a beautiful sensual dance!
