Vanessa Verdun-Morris has been the Assistant Library Director at Taylor Community Library since October 2015. In cooperation with Taylor Community Library Director Theresa Powers, the Assistant Director ensures the library provides resources for the information, recreation, and education needs of the community of Taylor by supervising and training staff and volunteers, screening employment applicants, and representing the library to the public in absence of the Library Director.

The Assistant Director is responsible for library public relations and outreach, and acts as subregional librarian for the Braille and Talking Books program. She also reviews the library's technology needs with City of Taylor technology staff and The Library Network. Ms. Verdun-Morris received a Master of Library and Information Science from Wayne State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Michigan State University. She is active in the library community by volunteering on the Michigan Library Association's Professional Development and Networking Committee, and is current Chair of Library Access Foundation.

Ms. Verdun-Morris is a lifelong resident of the City of Taylor if you a make an exception for the few years she was away for college. When not at the library, Ms. Verdun-Morris attends city events with her two children, and enjoys running races benefiting local charities.
