Libraries are able to start offering in-person services again, and we couldn’t be more excited. We will be re-starting services in phases. This helps us prioritize the most important needs and build our own capacity to serve you safely. Before we outline our plans, we should note that all plans are subject to change depending on local guidelines. We will continutally update our COVID-19 Response page with the most up-to-date information.
You can begin returning library items now.
Our bookdrop at the south entrance of the library is now open. Please return your checked out items to this bin only. We will be quarantining items as they are returned based on recommendations from the CDC before they are reshelved for check out. We are not able to accept any donations at this time.
You can start placing Taylor items on hold.
If there is a particular book you are looking for, you can search our online catalog and reserve it for yourself by placing a hold. You will only be able to place holds on items owned by Taylor Community Library until our interlibrary deliveries are back in action. When your holds are ready, you will receive a notification.
Curbside Pickup will begin June 15.
Starting June 15, we will resume Curbside Pickup only. The library building will still be closed to the public, but you can call ahead to select items and have them brought out to your car. Learn more about how Curbside Pickup works here.
A socially-distanced Computer Lab will open by appointment only starting July 1.
We are setting up a temporary computer lab using laptops and a printer in our newly completed Community Enrichment Room. This will allow users to spread out enough to mitigate potential exposure from others and allow us to better ventilate the space. Appointments can be scheduled online or by calling 734-287-4840. Appointments are limited to 1 hour per day.
Additional services will be added as local conditions dictate.
Eventually, we plan to open the building back up to the public, but we are not ready for that quite yet. Stay tuned for the latest information by subscribing to our new email newsletters and following us on social media.
Online Services will continue!
We grew our online offerings a lot through the course of our building closure, and we plan to keep up those services as we transition back to the building. You will still have access to free streaming movies through Kanopy, streaming and downloadable music from Freegal, and the reading materials you have come to love on Hoopla and Overdrive. Remember, we also have tons of virtual events for all ages, including our summer reading program, online book clubs, and more!
