DESCRIPTION:Sports Sampler: Volleyball\nDoes your child want to be in a sport\, but just can’t pick which one? Have a decision by the start of the school year by trying a new sport each week at our sport sampler program! This week we are learning how to play volleyball. We will host these events outside of the library either on the south side lawn or on the lawn behind the library. If the sport cannot be played inside and weather is not permitting we may have to cancel the event\, so monitor the website for the most current status. \nThis event is for kids\, tweens\, and teens.

SUMMARY:4H: Garden to Table Workshop*
DESCRIPTION:4H: Garden to Table Workshop*\nIn this hands-on program supported by the Michigan State University 4-H Extension program\, youth will explore the journey of food from seed to plate! Participants will learn how to plant and care for a garden\, harvest fresh produce\, and turn their homegrown ingredients into simple\, healthy meals. Activities promote teamwork\, environmental awareness\, and healthy living through fun and engaging gardening and cooking experiences. This program is for youth ages 10 – 17. Sign up using the link below and feel free to call the library if you need help registering. \nhttps://www.canr.msu.edu/events/garden-to-table-summer-workshops \nThere will be 3 separate courses and you are welcome to come to all as a series or one that interests you! The courses are: \nJune 20\, 2-3:30pm Plant It\, Grow It\, Eat It! Youth will learn the basics of gardening\, including how to start seeds\, transplant seedlings\, and care for plants. Participants will create their own mini container gardens to take home\, using herbs or veggies that are easy to grow.  \nJuly 25\, 4-5:30pm Harvest & Snack! Participants will explore how to identify when produce is ripe and ready to harvest. They’ll pick garden-grown fruits and vegetables\, learn about their nutritional value\, and prepare a sample. \nAugust 22\, 4-5:30pm Keep it Fresh! Learn simple ways to make your garden harvest last longer! Youth will explore easy preservation methods like quick pickling\, drying herbs\, and freezing produce. \n*Registration required \nThis event is intended for: youth ages 10 – 17
