DESCRIPTION:Tween Book Club\nTween Book Club is a monthly book club suggested for tweens ages 8-12 where we will read age-appropriate titles from all genres\, have a snack\, and do a book-related activity!\nCopies of our monthly book will be placed on hold and can be picked up from our front desk before our meeting. Most of the time they are also available on Hoopla or Libby.\nWe will take time to share thoughts on the book and chat about our general reading interests!\n\nThis month’s book is New Kid by Jerry Craft:\n\n\n  \nSeventh grader Jordan Banks loves nothing more than drawing cartoons about his life. But instead of sending him to the art school of his dreams\, his parents enroll him in a prestigious private school known for its academics\, where Jordan is one of the few kids of color in his entire grade. \nAs he makes the daily trip from his Washington Heights apartment to the upscale Riverdale Academy Day School\, Jordan soon finds himself torn between two worlds—and not really fitting into either one. Can Jordan learn to navigate his new school culture while keeping his neighborhood friends and staying true to himself? \nThis middle grade graphic novel is an excellent choice for tween readers\, including for summer reading.
