DESCRIPTION:Marionette Building Workshop\nJoin Alex Thomas and Friends in this immersive experience that invites participants to delve into the enchanting world of puppetry. Under the guidance of experienced puppeteers\, participants will learn the step-by-step process of marionette building. Once the marionettes are complete\, participants will be guided through the art of puppet manipulation and performance. They will learn the proper techniques for controlling the strings\, bringing their marionettes to life with graceful movements and expressive gestures. Through interactive exercises and improvisation\, participants will gain confidence in their puppeteering skills and discover the joy of storytelling through their marionettes. Ages 8 and up\, registration required and begins on June 20th. Call or stop in the library to sign up. \nThe library will be closed for Summer Fest June 26th – 29th so if you call then\, we will not be able to register you. \nThis program is intended for: kids 8+\, tweens\, and teens

DESCRIPTION:Tots & Kids Yoga\nJoin us for a grown-up and child yoga session during our normal story time hour. This yoga class is open to our regular toddler crowd\, plus older siblings and kids and is designed specifically with poses and calming breath work to help kids adjust when they might by overwhelmed\, overstimulated\, or fulllll of energy. We’ll wake up with the sun and some stretches with Ms. Kelly and leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. We have 10 yoga mats available to borrow at a first come\, first served basis\, but we encourage you to bring your own.

DESCRIPTION:4H: Garden to Table Workshop*\nIn this hands-on program supported by the Michigan State University 4-H Extension program\, youth will explore the journey of food from seed to plate! Participants will learn how to plant and care for a garden\, harvest fresh produce\, and turn their homegrown ingredients into simple\, healthy meals. Activities promote teamwork\, environmental awareness\, and healthy living through fun and engaging gardening and cooking experiences. This program is for youth ages 10 – 17. The courses are: \nJune 20\, 2-3:30pm Plant It\, Grow It\, Eat It! Youth will learn the basics of gardening\, including how to start seeds\, transplant seedlings\, and care for plants. Participants will create their own mini container gardens to take home\, using herbs or veggies that are easy to grow.  \nJuly 25\, 4-5:30pm Harvest & Snack! Participants will explore how to identify when produce is ripe and ready to harvest. They’ll pick garden-grown fruits and vegetables\, learn about their nutritional value\, and prepare a sample. \nAugust 22\, 4-5:30pm Keep it Fresh! Learn simple ways to make your garden harvest last longer! Children and teens can also use their 15 minutes to practice book reports or speeches for school\, or whatever you think will build their confidence in their reading and speaking skills. There are 16 slots open to read or speak aloud to a therapy dog and registration is required. They love to hear all the stories and get all the pets\, so call or stop in the library to sign up starting 10 a.m. July 17!
