DESCRIPTION:Tween Book Club\nTween Book Club is a monthly book club suggested for tweens ages 8-12 where we will read age-appropriate titles from all genres\, have a snack\, and do a book-related activity!\nCopies of our monthly book will be placed on hold and can be picked up from our front desk before our meeting. Most of the time they are also available on Hoopla or Libby.\nWe will take time to share thoughts on the book and chat about our general reading interests!\n\nThis month’s book is Lumberjanes\, Volume 1 by Shannon Watters\, ND Stevenson\, Gus Allen\, Grace Ellis and various illustrators:\n\n\n\n\nFive best friends spending the summer at Lumberjane scout camp…defeating yetis\, three-eyed wolves\, and giant falcons…what’s not to love?! \nFriendship to the max! Jo\, April\, Mal\, Molly and Ripley are five best pals determined to have an awesome summer together…and they’re not gonna let any insane quest or an array of supernatural critters get in their way! Not only is it the second title launching in our new BOOM! Box imprint but LUMBERJANES is one of those punk rock\, love-everything-about-it stories that appeals to fans of basically all excellent things. DESCRIPTION:Bark for Books*\nRead aloud to a trained therapy dog for 15 minutes. Children and teens can also use their 15 minutes to practice book reports or speeches for school\, or whatever you think will build their confidence in their reading and speaking skills. There are 16 slots open to read or speak aloud to a therapy dog and registration is required. They love to hear all the stories and get all the pets\, so call or stop in the library to sign up starting 10 a.m. August 13!
