Taylor Community Library has run out of at-home COVID tests, and does not know if or when it will receive more from MDHHS.
Thanks to the efforts of MDHHS, the library has received 300 free at-home Covid-19 tests available for pickup from the library, beginning Saturday, January 15, at 10 am. This program is part of a statewide effort to make COVID-19 tests more available to those who may not have access to one otherwise, or are unable to cover the cost. Thank you for your patience as the distribution details were worked out.
You may pick up one test per person in your household, up to five people. Per the state, anyone picking up these free tests will have to complete a short survey for state statistics. In order to speed up the distribution of the kits, the state notified the library the survey requirement has been waived at the present time.
Test kits can be picked up with our Curbside service during regular library hours, while supplies last. Please park in one of the designated Curbside Pick-Up spots by our South Entrance, and call 734-287-4840 to connect with library staff for instructions. A staff member will bring your test(s) out to your vehicle. Please stay in your vehicle and we can place the tests in your backseat or trunk.
TCL will serve as pick-up location only. Due to the medical nature of the tests and health and safety requirements, library staff cannot assist with using the test kit. Testing cannot be done in the library, or anywhere on library property. Tests must be used at home.
