Local Author Collection

Taylor Community Library receives many requests from local authors to add their books to our collection. In wishing to support our local authors we have established Local Author Collections in the Adult and Youth’s Departments at TCL, as well as guidelines for inclusion of these works. If you are a local author and would like your work considered for our collection, please check out our guidelines and submission form below.

Submission Guidelines:

Authors must have a valid library card and be residents in southeastern Michigan.
The books will be accepted as DONATIONS and will become the property of Taylor Community Library.
A Submission Form must be completed and submitted with the book (online form is also acceptable).
Materials chosen will be labeled and placed in the suitable local author collection for at least 3 years. After that time, they will be evaluated on a regular basis to either keep in the collection or be weeded out.
The Library cannot assume responsibility for loss or damage of any item.

Please note, all books submitted are donations and become property of Taylor Community Library. They will not be returned regardless of placement in the collection.
