Taylor Community Library is proud to offer SAM software on all our desktop computers as well as SmartAlec for remote printing!
To use a library computer, you will need to know your library card number as well as your pin. If you can’t remember your pin, our staff is happy to help! You can use our computers with any valid library card within the TLN system. If you don’t have a library card and are a Taylor resident, stop at the front desk first to get your card. If you aren’t a resident or don’t wish to have a library card we can print you off a 1-day guest pass each time you come in.
While using our desktop computers, you can now click “print” to submit your document. Once you’ve followed the prompts, head over to our new kiosk and scan your library card or guest pass. This is where you will choose black & white or color, quantity, and page range. Documents submitted are automatically converted to PDF and are deleted 24 hours after they are uploaded whether they are printed or not.
Printing costs $0.10 per page for Black & White and $0.50 per page for Color. Payments can now be made with cash or card and will now be done at the kiosk instead of the front desk. Please be aware that depending on your credit card merchant, you may be charged a fee when using a credit or debit card.
Remote printing is also still available. Whether you’re in the building on a personal device, or at home, you can send your prints from our new SmartAlec app from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store or via our new web form. At this time you must have a library card to send prints remotely. Visit our Remote Printing page for more information and instructions.
